July 22, 2009
One of the key colors in fashion this season, hot pink is featuring heavily for weddings too. Whether you have used it throughout your wedding or simply as an accent color, coordinating your wedding favors in hot pink will add some drama to your tables.
Here are a few ideas for hot pink favors to inspire you:
Budget Favor Options
Fill mini pails with hot pink tissue paper shred and add in matching colored candies, rolls of candies in hot pink paper or chocolates in hot pink foil. An alternative to pails are favor boxes. If you can’t find these in hot pink then use white ones and decorate them with hot pink stick on gems and mini marabou feathers. Bright white favor boxes with a large hot pink gerbera flower on top (made from silk or paper) are great for a modern garden wedding.
Go for glamour and luxury with hot pink satin bags which you can fill with candies or chocolates or something simple like a candle.
Mid-Price Favor Options
Stay with the glamour look and give your guests indulgent chocolates in a hot pink satin box. After your guests have eaten the chocolates they can use the box for trinkets.
Keep your guests cool with hot pink fans in either wood with an intricate design or choose fabric covered paddle fans which can be personalized.
Choose some pretty hot pink glass candle holders and accompany them with a votive or tea light candle. These can be colored and scented or just go for plain white.
Custom cookies maybe at the top end of your budget but they are remarkably versatile in terms of being able to customize them to your wedding. Choose shapes to match your wedding style and have them iced in hot pink. You could also double them up as place cards by having your guests names iced on them.
For a favor to last give mini pot plants with hot pink flowers such as gerbera’s, geraniums or mini roses. You could also make the pot hot pink by painting them or simply add a band of hot pink satin ribbon.
Luxury Favors Options
Mini cakes are a popular choice for wedding favors but they are more expensive than other types of wedding favor. But, just like cookies they can be totally customized to your wedding in terms of shape, design and colors. You can save some money by having them as your wedding cake and favors combined. You may also want to have a small cake for the cake cutting ceremony. You could also combine them with your place cards by having your guests names iced on them.
Look out for enameled objects in hot pink such as key chains, compacts, trinket boxes and photograph frames. Whilst these can be pricey when bought individually they are a nice idea for small intimate weddings. If your wedding is quite large then find a wholesaler to keep costs down.
Your guests will no doubt have taken lots of photographs during your wedding day, so give them something to store them in with a photograph album covered in hot pink raw silk or paper. You will find mini albums from craft stores and gift shops, whilst other stores may also be able to offer personalization.
