Thank you notes are generally sent only to those guests who have given you a wedding gift and although probably all your guests will have given something, thank you notes only really say ‘thanks for the pressie!’
Wedding favors can be expensive. There is the cost of the favor itself, the packaging, decorations and the cost of shipping and taxes to be added in. Even if you are buying in bulk quantities the total cost can still amount to a few hundred dollars. It is possible to give favors for less than $1 each but this can require some creativity on your part and if you are not that way inclined or simply don’t have the time, you will have to spend at least twice this amount.
Basically, if you don’t give wedding favors then you could appear to be too tight to spend a little extra on something to thank your guests.
