Cool Fall Wedding Theme Ideas For A Special Day
September 2, 2009
Planning a wedding can be complicated enough, but it doesn’t have to be the end of the world. Themes are a major part of the process; in fact, having one makes it that much easier. Fall weddings lend themselves to many different themes, and each one can be as different as the leaves you’ll see this season.
Try planning your wedding around a color theme. Reds, golds, greens and browns are all very autumnal in color. Within those shades, you have even more choices; russet red, dark or bright gold, or dirt brown, for starters. You can have your wedding and reception hall decorated in those colors, have fall wedding favors or autumn wedding favors in those same colors, or have your wedding party wear them. In fact, you can do all of the above-when done correctly, it can look absolutely beautiful.
Why not pick a fall related theme? Harvest time is an excellent one; it brings to mind the completion of something started a long time ago. Your wedding is the “harvest”, so to speak, of your relationship. Use cornucopias, corn, squash and other fall related foods to reflect this theme, and find quotes that have to do with the harvest. The wedding cake might have decorations like a bride and groom standing by a pile of fruit and vegetables, smiling. You can include the latter on the tables of your guests as additional fall wedding favors. And a scarecrow in the corner would be particularly cute.
You could use fall as a “winter is nearly here” theme too. All of your decorations could be a combination of fall and winter. Leaves could be on one table, and snowflakes on the next. Invitations could be decorated with a scarecrow and a snowman seated at a table playing cards. The music could be mostly holiday themed as well. Your guests would find it unique and interesting; the combination of seasons would definitely give them something to talk about.
How about a play on words? Your theme could be “Fall”ing in love. Your autumn wedding favors could have a picture of a bride and groom slipping and sliding on leaves. Or you could pass out candies with a tag that says, “Don’t fallunless it’s into your loved one’s arms!” Your wedding cake could have figurines doing something similar. And again, your music can reflect the theme. There are many songs that talk about that very theme, and finding them is as simple as a Google search or ransacking a friend’s music collection. Talking to a knowledgeable DJ would also give you the information you need.
Fall, of course, means cooler weather, so you could have a toasty theme to your wedding. Guests could get s’more kits as favors, and the colors could be red and gold-the colors of a nice hot fire. The reception could take place around or near a real fire, and hot foods, like soups and casseroles, could be served. Drinks could include hot toddies, mulled wine, and other warm beverages. Not only would it be a charming theme, but a very welcome one indeed!
If you’re stuck on what to do for your fall wedding, never fear-themes are the answer. There are more themes than you might imaging for your situation, and all you have to do is find the one that works for you. Make your fall wedding work for you by choosing a good theme, and give your guests the best time they’ve ever had in the process.

Discount Wedding Favors
September 2, 2009
When most people think of wedding favors they do not think it will be a substantial part of the wedding budget. This is largely because the unit price of each wedding favor is often quite low. However, it is important to remember that this price must be multiplied by the number of guests in attendance and this can really add up if there are a large number of guests at the wedding.
It can also add up quickly if the unit price is quite high. As example consider wedding favors with unit prices of $2 and $10. If you plan to have 500 guests at your wedding and give each one a $2 favor your budget for wedding favors will be the same as it would be if you plan to have a small wedding of only 100 people and give each of them a favor which costs $10.
In both cases you would need to have a budget of $1000 for wedding favors. From this example you can see why it is very important to consider both the unit price as well as the number of guests. Fortunately, whether you are having a large or a small wedding there are many wedding favors available for less than $1 which can help to keep the wedding favor budget low. This article will provide some ideas for wedding favors which typically cost less than $1.
Place card holders are one type of wedding favor which is typically available for less than $1 per place card holder. There are certainly some place card holders which will cost much more than $1 per unit but you are likely to also find many which are priced under $1. Place card holders make great wedding favors because they not only serve a purpose at the wedding but they can also be used as small picture frames by the guests after the wedding.
Tins containing mints are another option for wedding favors which are often priced at under $1 per unit. These tins come in a wide variety of sizes and shapes but the tins which are priced at less than $1 are likely to be quite small. However, there are also a wide variety of designs available. You can purchase ones which feature a tuxedo design or a wedding dress. You can also find tins with wedding bells or flowers on the top.
Another way to find wedding favors for less than $1 per favor is to inquire with the wedding favor distributor about clearance or closeout items. These are often items which have been discontinued or which the distributor is not planning to stock anymore.
Many distributors are willing to offer these favors at discounted prices because they do not have many left and are trying to free up space in their warehouse. If these items have been discontinued or the distributor is not willing to order more you may be limited to the number of favors the distributor has in stock.
If this quantity is enough to meet your needs, you are certainly in luck but if you need more than is available, it might be a good idea to search for other inexpensive wedding favors unless you know for sure there is another distributor who can sell you additional quantities of the same favor.

Icy And Delightful Tips For Your Winter Ceremony
September 1, 2009
Winter is a special time of year when many significant and important holidays are celebrated by peoples of many faiths. It is also a time when family and friends gather together and enjoy each other’s company. This is why this season is perfect in a unique and special way for wedding ceremony. The act of marriage has significant religious connotations in many faiths just like holidays celebrated during the winter months. It also is a time when family and friends come together to celebrate an important event. So take advantage of the benefits this season offers while planning your ceremony. If you feel daunted by the challenge of planning a wedding long after the peak months of spring and summer, don’t fret. Here are some great tips and ideas to guide your efforts as you plan your winter ceremony.
When planning for the main ceremony always start with the venue itself. Due to the season it is most likely an indoor affair. Take advantage of the season by having the event at your religious house of worship such as a church or synagogue. Try to use wintry and holiday themed decorations when decorating the halls. If you want to use a lot of decorations without making the hall or sanctuary look like it is being prepared for a holiday service, go for wintry decorations like icicles, snowflakes and blue and white Christmas lights. This will give the hall a cool, solemn, and ethereal glow. A great design motif is a winter’s night. Try using twinkle lights on the ceiling to simulate a cold winter night sky. Of course use adequate lighting so that everyone can perform their proper duties safely and properly as the ceremony progresses.
In the case of your bridesmaids, make sure their dresses are in keeping with the wintry theme. The colors to look are either gray, icy blue, or if you can dare to risk it miming your wedding dress, white. An important thing to remember is to make sure that the dresses are as flattering on your bridal party as fashionably and properly possible. Of course, make sure to either use one or two colors for all the dresses.
For the groomsmen, advise them to follow the same color scheme when choosing the vests and ties for their tuxedoes. In the case of winter it is better if you choose one color for all the groomsmen’s suits. Another great idea is to use white or blue flowers for the lapel decorations.
The last thing to consider about your ceremony is the looks of your flower girl or ring bearer. The important thing is that both their clothes match your seasonal theme. A great suggestion is that you can use your imagination with the little flower girl’s dress. Once again keep in mind winter colors when advising her parents about her costume. Also try suggesting a fantastical look like a winter sprite. A great suggestion in pulling this look is to give her wreath made of paper snowflakes and giving her a basket full of the same rather than traditional petals. For the ring bearer, dress him in a tuxedo similar to the groomsmen’s tuxedoes. You can also try for something more adorable like a powder blue tux. Also make sure the ring pillow is in accordance with the winter theme.

Fruitful Suggestion For A Fall Vineyard Wedding
September 1, 2009
The fall season is one of harvests one part of the season that is not normally realized in wedding themes is wine and vineyard weddings. If you think about it you would be bewildered as to why it doesn’t come immediately to mind. Grapes are fruit also and must be harvested during the autumn season just like apples. This is good news because it allows you the bride to bring a level of elegance and sophistication that would not be normally possible with other fall wedding themes. Here are some great suggestions for a fall wine wedding.
The first thing to consider is the location and whether you are having the wedding inside or outside. The fist location to have a wine wedding is fairly obvious. Have it at a local winery. The interesting thing is that while grapes can grow only under certain climates, California is not the only place you can find vineyards. If you live on the East Coast, the South, or even the South West there are a lot of local wineries and vineyards near you. Just do some research and you will be surprised by the results. If you are in an area where a vineyard is not near enough try bringing the vineyard to you by making the decorations of your ceremony hall transform the location where you exchange vows with your groom an Italian or Californian vineyard. For example you can use trellises laden with grapes and vines as wall decorations and clusters of grapes and small wine bottles as aisle markers. If the wedding is held outside, in either a vineyard or some other location try using a gazebo as an option for where ceremony will be held.
The reception is an important part of planning for a wine wedding. Wine is a beverage associated with feasting so it stands to reason that you would need to pay most attention to the details of your reception. The menu needs to be essentially built around wines. The types you choose will either depend on the winery if you hold your wedding there or your personal preferences in other settings. A great idea is to have wine tastings and provide cheese and fruit that best match certain vintages. Do your homework to make your reception meal a success.
Another aspect of reception planning will be the decorations. Like the location of the ceremony use the grape and vineyard theme but more of it. Use grapes and wickerwork combined with fall blossoms for a dramatic center pieces. Also use other types of decorations for the walls and main serving table. Of course choose theme appropriate place cards.
The piece de triumph for the reception will be the cake. You can have many options to choose from. For example a great idea is a chocolate cake with white chocolate icing to delineate a vine trellis and candy confections for grapes and the vines climbing up and culminating into either a traditional cake topper or a bunch of grapes or confection bottle of your favorite wine. You can go for simple elegance with any flavor cake that has non colored icing and only molded designs of grapes, wine, and vineyard implements. This will present a dynamic option that your guests will surely like and remember always.

Special Wedding Favors Just For Children
September 1, 2009
Deciding to include children in your wedding or reception is a very personal decision. Some people feel very strongly that children are too disruptive at weddings while others love the idea of sharing their wedding day with children and welcome children to attend the wedding ceremony and reception.
While deciding whether or not to invite children is a matter of personal opinion; if you do decide to invite children they should absolutely receive some sort of wedding favor. Some couples opt to give the children the same favor as the adults while other couples prefer to give the children a different favor which is more appropriate for their age. This article will provide some idea for giving wedding favors to children.
The first thing to consider when giving wedding favors for children is the age of the children involved and the type of favor which will be given to the adults. This is important because sometimes the favor you are planning to give to the adults would be greatly appreciated by children of all ages while other times the children would likely prefer to receive a more age appropriate wedding favor.
For example if you are planning to give the adults an edible wedding favor such as candy or cookies most children would likely be happy to receive this type of favor. However, if you are planning to give the adults a favor such as wine charms you might want to select another favor for the children in attendance.
One great wedding favor idea for children is an activity packaged designed specifically for use as a wedding favor. These packages have items such as games, markers and other activities so children can use the favor at the wedding.
This is an especially good idea for children who are too young to enjoy the music and dancing at the reception and who may become bored easily. This type of wedding favor will not only help to keep the children entertained during the wedding but will also be a nice gift for them to take home after the wedding.
Stuffed animals are another option for a wedding favor for children. You can purchase stuffed animals with a wedding related theme such as a bride and groom teddy bear which would be appropriate for a wedding favor. Another option is to seek out stuffed animals which match the theme of the wedding. For example you may give the children a teddy bear dressed for the beach at a beach themed wedding or a stuffed penguin dressed like Santa Claus for a Christmas wedding.
Another option is to give each of the children a gift certificate to one of the popular stores where children can make their own stuffed animals. These stores allow children to select their own teddy bear and watch it be stuffed before their eyes. They can even select outfit for the bears or have sound chips inserted.
Still another option for giving wedding favors to children is to just give the children a small toy which is appropriate for their ages. These toys can be purchased at any store selling children’s toys rather than at distributors of wedding favors. If you know the children personally you can select toys which suit their interests. However, if you only know the age of the children who will be in attendance you can simply seek out toys which are appropriate for boys and girls of that age.
Finally, couples who are unsure of what type of wedding favor to give to children can always resort to an edible wedding favor. Even if the adults will not be given an edible favor, the couple may decide to give the children edible favors.
Edible favors can range to photo cookies with a picture of the bride and the groom to candy bars with the couples name and the date of the wedding. The children in attendance are much more likely to be impressed with a wedding favor of cookies or candy than they will with the more sophisticated wedding favors the couple selects for the adults in attendance.

Magical Ideas To Help You Achieve The Dreams Of A Fairytale Wedding
August 28, 2009
The fairytale wedding has come to mean the ideal wedding. It is the dream ceremony that every bride even if she doesn’t admit it dreams of having. It is perfect in every way and there are no flubs or mistakes. It means different things to different brides but in the end the planning is all the same daunting. In this case we are going to talk about the fairytale as a wedding theme. This is one of the most daunting design schemes as the dream of the ideal can in reality quickly become the achievement of the impossible. But with a solid theme you can start out with mundane a make something that is literally magical. Here are some pointers of how to begin achieving this.
First, decide the story you want to tell. The dream of happy ever after is different for each person that is why there are so many stories. The obstacles you and your future husband are different than those of other couples and each of you have found your own way to your happiness. So try to pick a story that matches your own. That way it adds a deeper significance to your special day. One of my favorites is about a girl who was given a choice by fate whether she wanted to have a sorrowful youth and a joyful old age or joyful old age and a sorrowful old age. She was wise and chose a joyful old age. Fate then persecuted her for seven years and after the end of the set time came she was given the tools to seize her happiness and find true love. As you see the story conveys a message and if you can do that for your guests your wedding is well on its way to being unforgettable
Next, think of the decorations. There are numerous ways to do it. You might want to do the medieval decorations and use decorations from the high middle age. You might want to go with something from the renaissance or simply rely on the images of fairytales you saw from your childhood. This is often the first obstacle as you now have to translate an idea into reality. First start small look for the things you can find on your prepared list. The internet has made it possible to find just about anything. Just focus on finding it at a reasonable cost. If you can’t find any items as you progress through the list, don’t be daunted use your imagination and look for items that combined can achieve a similar affect.
Choose a location that fits your vision. Look for the place that will best match the theme. It is important to not be wed to the perfect. If you can’t find the exact thing find something close or see if you can transform a normal venue into an extraordinary one with the right decorations. Also consider the challenge to be an opportunity for new inspiration. For example if you were going for an Arthurian them a church would become not just a church but a mysterious chapel a knight must reach while on his quest. Then you would be inspired to decorate the chapel in medieval style.
Plan your reception for fun not perfection. The reception is the time for you and your guests to celebrate your tying the knot. Just focus outside the decoration on making the event enjoyable with good food, music, and activities everyone can enjoy. Also think of interesting ways to combine the fairytale theme with the wedding favors you give. If you want to have themed dishes research and see what caterers can do the job. In the end enjoy the fruit of your labors.
In the end you will be surprised by the result. The simple, humble, parts and pieces you pulled together to make your wedding will mysteriously come together to make something glorious and magical that no one will forget.
Tips For Wrapping Wedding Favors
August 28, 2009
For many couples one of the most tedious aspects of planning a wedding is wrapping the wedding favors. This is especially true if you are planning to have a large wedding reception with many guests in attendance.
Wrapping wedding favors for hundreds of guests can be very time consuming. Therefore couples should plan on purchasing their wedding favors well in advance to avoid having to wrap the favors at the last minute. In general you would ideally want your favors to arrive 2-3 weeks before your wedding date to give you plenty of time to get them wrapped without feeling stressed.
Orders involving personalization should be ordered even early because these will take significantly longer to arrive. This article will offer a wide range of advice on wrapping wedding favors including advice on how to wrap favors and tips for making wrapping wedding favors a lot more fun.
Our first tip for wrapping wedding favors is to make sure you factor the cost of wrapping the gifts into your overall budget for wedding favors. This is important because it can add a significant amount to the cost of the favors. Most wedding favor distributors can ship the favors to you already wrapped but there is likely to be a costly fee for this service.
It is far less expensive for the couple to wrap the gifts themselves. The most common theme for wrapping wedding favors includes wrapping the gifts in white and using ribbons the color of the bridesmaids dresses to adorn the wrapped packages. However, some couples opt for white ribbons for a more monochromatic appearance.
Whichever way you decide to wrap your favors you should try to estimate of wrapping supplies such as paper, tape and ribbons before you purchase the favors to ensure these costs will not put you over budget. This may influence the wedding favors you select because you may be more inclined to select favors which are smaller because they will require fewer additional resources to wrap.
Another tip for wrapping wedding favors is to not avoid this project until the night before the wedding. In the opening paragraph we stressed the importance of ordering your wedding favors early to avoid having to wrap them at the last minute. This is incredibly important because wrapping wedding favors can be very time consuming.
If you leave it until the last minute you may find yourself staying up all night to try to get all of the favors wrapped and unfortunately may run out of time and not be able to wrap them all. We cannot urge you enough to purchase your favors ahead of time and wrap them as soon as they arrive. This way you can simply set them aside and will not have to worry about them again until it is time to get them to the reception location so they can be placed at each place setting.
Wrapping wedding favors is definitely not a fun project. It can be very time consuming and can also be incredibly tedious. One way to make the project easier is to enlist the help of friends or family members to help you. If you get together a group of 3-4 of your friends you will find the task of wrapping the wedding favors is accomplished in much less time than it would take you to wrap them yourself. You will also have a great deal more fun because you will be spending time with your friends as you wrap the wedding favors.
Our last tip for wrapping wedding favors is to keep the wrapping very simple. You may have ideas about complex wrapping techniques and elaborate ribbons but this can make the task of wrapping the wedding favors take considerably longer than it has to take. Plus it can make storing the wedding favors very difficult.
If you spend a great deal of time tying elaborate ribbons it would not make sense to stack the wrapped favors in a box where the ribbons will become crushed. You would have to find a space big enough to lay each favor out flat. This can be very difficult and even if you are able to do it, it will likely cause some inconvenience. Therefore we recommend simpler methods of wrapping and decorating your wedding favors.
Very Special Wedding Favors To Remember Your Unique Wedding
August 27, 2009
Your special day is really near. A once in a lifetime day, a day you will want to be unforgettable and incomparable. What do I mean by incomparable? I mean that you will want to have your guests remember it for its uniqueness.
A wonderful way of getting your guests to remember your wedding is wedding favors. Wedding favors are a great way of showing appreciation to those who will share this incredible moment with you. What better way to thank them for being there for you than presenting them with a special gift for them to take home? But be careful! You are not the first bride who has thought of this, and won’t be the last. Most couples get favors for their guests when tying the knot. That’s why you have to make sure they won’t look at your wedding favor and wonder… “Who’s party did I get this from?” no way! Your party will be unique, your marriage will be unique, and you are unique so make sure your wedding favors are unique too!
Few gifts will be more unique than one that allows the person who gets it to use it and add a personal touch to it. Great examples are notebooks. Not only will your guests absolutely love receiving this very useful gift they can use for their everyday life; notebooks are great because once each person has written something on it, the notebook becomes even more unique and unforgettable. Each of your loved ones will have the chance to make their favor even more special and personalized, and you can even encourage them to start using it by writing down a special thought about your wedding.
But the uniqueness notebooks offer goes even further with the personalized “Love Notes” Notebook. These beautiful notebooks are personalized! This means you can specially choose their features to make them even more unique and special for your friends and family! And an amazing bonus: each one of your guests will not only get a notebook, but they will get a pen with it also, so they are ready to start scribbling love notes to each other, or caring messages to share the feeling that will reign at your wedding.
Since we are talking about the feeling reigning at your wedding; you know “love will be in the air” on this wonderful day on which you and your prince charming publicly declare your will to stay together “till death do you part” nothing can be more romantic than that! So why not get the atmosphere to be even more filled with romance getting candle favors for all your loved ones? Your guests will be thrilled to get a candle they can take home for ambience and decoration; so thrilled, they will surely want to light them up as soon as they reach the table. This will make your reception look like a starry sky, and create an even more intimate and warm atmosphere. Candles and candle holders make no doubt a wonderful favor.
If you are a plant and open space lover you can go for a Botanical Garden Votive Candle Holder, for example, or maybe if you are more playful, love fairytales or simply want your favors to be mainly sweet, you can choose the gingerbread bride & groom candle favors. Shaped as your boy and you, these favors will surely put a tender smile in your friends and family’s faces.
Should You Give Wedding Favors?
August 26, 2009
Wedding favors are small gifts that are given to wedding guests by the bride and groom as a token of thanks for joining them on their special day. The tradition of giving favors goes back to the 13th century when the bride would give small boxes of sugar cubes to the female guests at her wedding.
Today wedding favors have become far more sophisticated and with that comes additional expense and strain on the wedding budget. Many couples do consider whether or not they should give them and if by not giving them would their guests mind.
Wedding etiquette would say that it is unforgivable not to give favors and by not doing so you are appearing to be too stingy to thank your guests in the traditional way. I am not sure that many wedding guests would be too bothered if they received them or not, although there will always be those ‘traditionalist’ guests who will expect them.
Some couples may also consider that the sending of thank you notes does exactly the same job. Actually they don’t. Thank you notes are generally sent only to those guests who have given you a wedding gift and although probably all your guests will have given something, thank you notes only really say ‘thanks for the pressie!’
Wedding favors can be expensive. There is the cost of the favor itself, the packaging, decorations and the cost of shipping and taxes to be added in. Even if you are buying in bulk quantities the total cost can still amount to a few hundred dollars. It is possible to give favors for less than $1 each but this can require some creativity on your part and if you are not that way inclined or simply don’t have the time, you will have to spend at least twice this amount.
Basically, if you don’t give wedding favors then you could appear to be too tight to spend a little extra on something to thank your guests. Favors do not need to be extravagant gestures, a few candy coated chocolate hearts in a voile bag is better than nothing at all and wedding guests usually appreciate something edible as a favor over yet another miniature photograph frame or bag of flower seeds!
Another reason why you should give favors at your wedding is that if you don’t then you the onus will be on the two of you to go to each guest and to personally thank them for coming. If your wedding has a couple of hundred guests then thanking them all individually could see you missing most of the reception!
